Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa and Drive to Arba Minch
Upon your arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. After a brief rest, we will embark on a scenic drive to Arba Minch, located in the southern part of Ethiopia. Along the way, you will witness breathtaking landscapes, including the Great Rift Valley and its stunning lakes. Overnight stay in Arba Minch.
Day 2: Boat Trip on Lake Chamo and Visit to Dorze Village
After breakfast, we will take a boat trip on Lake Chamo, known for its abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Later, we will visit the Dorze village, where you can immerse yourself in the unique culture and traditions of the Dorze people. You will have the opportunity to witness their traditional weaving techniques and visit their unique beehive-shaped houses. Overnight stay in Arba Minch.
Day 3: Explore the Tribes of Omo Valley
Today, we will venture deeper into the Omo Valley, known for its diverse ethnic groups and rich cultural heritage. We will visit the Konso village, famous for its terraced agriculture and intricately carved wooden totems. Next, we will proceed to the Mursi tribe, known for their distinctive lip plates and body scarification. You will have the chance to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life. Overnight stay in Jinka.
Day 4: Visit the Hamar Tribe and Return to Addis Ababa
On the final day of our tour, we will visit the Hamar tribe, renowned for their unique rituals and ceremonies. You will witness the famous bull-jumping ceremony, a rite of passage for young men in the tribe. Afterward, we will start our journey back to Addis Ababa, stopping at various viewpoints along the way to capture the stunning landscapes. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your memorable Omo Valley tour.
